De wedstrijd in Kruisem bij de junioren werd een nipte sprint tussen de Brit Tom Portsmouth en Gust Lootens. Uiteindelijk draaide de sprint uit in het voordeel van Tom. Hij behaalt zo zijn derde zege van het seizoen.
"We got in a breakaway of around 12 riders, with around half the race to go. The cooperation wasn't great because of the large group but we pulled out a good gap of 1 minute. I felt good with 3 laps to go and tried attacking with 2 laps to go and got some movement but was closed down, and into the final straight of the race some riders attacked and I chased making sure they didn't get a gap because of the tailwind. Gust then went, I jumped on his wheel and gap rushed him to the line. "
