Tom Portsmouth heeft zijn 4e zege in zijn laatste jaar als junior op zijn palmares staan. In Heestert was de Engelsman de snelste in een sprint met 7. Volgend jaar verdedigt hij in zijn eerste jaar als belofte de kleuren van het Urbano Cycling Team.
"I kept the pace high on the first climb to stay warm, it was a bitter wind. I saw we got a gap and drove it on after that for 2 laps. Eventually we got a 30 but we just kept driving up until 3 laps to go when the attacks started. With 1 lap to go a brit attacked hard and I knew we had to chase but no one did. I did a hard 2 minute effort up the hill to bring him back. After that it was cat and mouse until 1km to go when the brit again attacked into the last corner which placed me in 4th. I knew from then I had the gap rush and came past Enrico with 20 metres to go."
