Day says ‘I had trained all winter alongside my college studies training hundreds of miles per week, but then Covid hit and all racing was cancelled between March and July. Having won an opening classic in the UK I knew my form was good but Kuurne Brussels Kuurne didn’t go too well for me as I was not feeling great for that race. On my return to the UK, I took the opportunity to get my head down, knowing that some form of racing would return at some point during 2020. It really paid off as I represented Flanders Colour Galloo CT in France, winning the Boucles de L’Oise International Stage Race in August and then retained my National Time Trial Championship title in September winning by 44seconds against the best Juniors in the UK. As a result of my successes I made contact with quite a few U23 continental teams but chose the SEG racing Academy due to their impressive track record of developing riders into professional teams. Their structured environment, forward thinking approach using the latest training methods with an excellent rider support structure was the main attraction to me. I am excited to work with SEG Racing Academy and hope I can support and bring success to the team in 2021'.
