Met 31 nieuwelingen werd er gestart in het West-Vlaamse Ledegem. De Engelsman Benjamin Moody won de sprint van 6.

"The race at the start went out very fast in the cross and tail winds which made it quite hard but sat up coming into the really strong head wind.  At about 28km the race split up into small groups and I managed to make it to the front group of 9 riders. After 2 laps of being with the group, 2 riders dropped off so we were left with only 7 riders.  With 4 laps to go one rider attacked and stayed away for 2 laps before being pulled in. I was under the impression that the Belgium national champion was going to attack like he did in a race on Sunday but he held back and stayed with the group.  With 1 lap to go there was 7 riders left and it became very cagey, everyone looking at each other seeing for who was willing to take the race on. I sat back and was patient coming into the sprint and left it as late as possible to open out my sprint to then take the win.  Overall the race was quite hard due to the wind but I really enjoyed the races and courses! It is a shame to be leaving Belgium so soon but I'm sure I'll be back for some racing in the near future!  Thank you for a great race.": told Benjamin.
