In het Oost-Vlaamse Oosterzele won gisteren de Ier Luke Smith de nieuwelingenwedstrijd met 63 vertrekkers.
"Well firstly it was a big team effort with Harvey Barnes going on a break on his own and PJ Diogenes slowing things down at the front with myself . So when all was back together and about 4 laps left I slipped off the front and immediately the boys slowed things down. One guy who finished 2nd was already up the road slowed up for me and we worked well. He was a bit tired so I did the majority of the work as I was very intent of making this break stick . With one lap left we had 15 seconds so it was time to bury the head. I didn't want to be playing cat and mouse so with about 2km to go I attacked him and it stuck and I won the biggest race of my life so far .Harvey ended up winning the bunch for 3rd and PJ a well deserved 13th.
