In Passendale passeerden 38 nieuwelingen de inschrijvingstafel van de jury. De Australier Benjamin Coates was de snelste van 4. Benjamin is sinds 2 juni in Europa en dit is inmiddels zijn tweede zege op Europese bodem.
"On the 3rd lap me and 2 other riders went in the breakaway. We got a very large gap on the peloton and worked together very well. With 2 laps until the finish the gap became very small and i thought we will get caught. The peloton then slowed down and our advantage became big again. One rider joined the breakaway and it was a 4 person breakaway with 1 lap to go. We worked together until the end and I started my sprint very early from the back and was able to come away with the victory." Benjamin.
