"We had decided to take an hour on the bike from the morning, since we had sat in a car from DK friday, so to spin the legs we rode some hills in the area around Teuven. The team was in front from the startline. Up the hill  we rode at very high speed, and it kept on, but the team was ready for anything! Lasse Krejberg rode full gas down the hill to Hogen, where a five or six belgians broke away, and i got with them. There was not much punch in the attack though, and we did not really get away. Brent Govaerts was in front, and he had a gap of 20 meters or so, and i was about 10 metres behind him, when i realized there was a chance to get away, and i slowly accelerated up to him, and said "Let's go!" Back in the peleton the team with especially Tobias Hjortshøj, Martin Tranegaard Andersen, Mikkel Feldtmann and Krejberg in front backing off, so we got a nice gap. My teammate Asbjørn Hellemose got away with a german guy, who wantet him to pull, but with me in front i could not. So at an uphill he attacked away from him, and got up to Brent and I. We worked together really well, and with the team backing off any attacks in the peleton, keeping everything together. The gap got bigger and bigger the next couples of laps, peaking at 1:15. But then fatigue jumped in, and the speed fell for every lap, when suddenly up the hill Brent says to me "Don't look back," and as the dumbass I am I looked back, and there was the peleton behind us. It turned out that a group of riders had only 17 seconds up to os and the peleton extra 15-20 seconds behind. That was all that was needed for us the squeeze our butcheeks together, and the next couple of laps we extended the lead to 1 minute again. The last lap was not that fast, we knew we would last, so we congratulated eachother for the great work. In the finish I could sprint away from Hellemose and Brent who told us he was not the great sprinter. That said he was really strong on the hills, and he rode cleverly, and both Hellemose and I saw it immediatly. It was my second win in the career, since i won a danish race in Struer last year, and the teams first race, so we are thrilled with the double in a very hard race, and a great teamwork! It was a nice route, and though it felt quite flat, it was hilly for danish standards with almost 900 height meters on 78 km! A great race, great arrangement, and great competition! Once again congratulations to Brent Govaerts with a third place in his third race as a junior!": tell Asbjørn Ravn Rasmussen.
